Privacy and cookie controls
Your privacy and cookie controls explained
What we collect, how consent is enforced before analytics loads, and how to exercise your data rights.
What we collect and why
For buyers and tenants: the email address you register with, your saved properties, saved searches and alert criteria, and the name, email, phone number and message you submit when enquiring about a property or requesting a valuation.
For agencies: your company details, verification documents, listing content and media, plus billing identifiers held by Stripe. We use this to operate the marketplace, deliver your enquiries to the right agent, and bill subscriptions.
Consent-gated cookies
Only strictly necessary cookies (your session and your cookie choice itself) are set before you decide. Analytics loads only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner — the Google Analytics script is not injected until then, and rejecting keeps it off entirely.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer, which removes consent for future page loads.
Your rights and sharing
You can ask us for a copy of your data, correction of anything inaccurate, or deletion of your account and its data using our contact page. We share personal data only with the processors needed to run the service — hosting and database, Stripe for payments, our email provider for notifications, and the estate agent you chose to contact.
Enquiry details are deliberately shared with the agency marketing the property; that is the purpose of sending one.
Evidence you can expect to see
- Loading the site in a fresh browser and checking your developer tools: no analytics cookie or Google script until you accept.
- Rejecting analytics in the banner, reloading, and seeing no _ga cookie present.
- The cookie settings link in the footer, which reopens your choices at any time.
- Our written privacy and cookie policies, naming the categories of data and processors.
What this does not claim
- We describe our own practices. Nobody has certified MoveLane as GDPR compliant — GDPR has no such certification scheme for a product like this.
- We are not able to delete data an estate agent has already received and stored in their own systems; those requests go to the agency as controller of that copy.
This article is maintained by MoveLane to answer common security, privacy and billing questions. It is not an independent certification, audit or legal advice.
